Michigan Radio and the Wharton Center will present a live performance of The Moth Mainstage in East Lansing on Thursday, June 9, at 7:30 p.m. After a sold out performance in Ann Arbor last year, The Moth Mainstage will return to Michigan with a line-up of writers, performers, and other unique national and Michigan storytellers, each with a ten-minute story to tell live without notes.
Tickets for this performance go on sale Wednesday, March 30 at 10:00 a.m. online at whartoncenter.com, in person at the Wharton Center Ticket Office, or by calling 1-800-WHARTON.
The Moth is an acclaimed not-for-profit organization dedicated to the art and craft of storytelling. Each Moth Mainstage performance features simple, old-fashioned storytelling by a host and five wildly divergent raconteurs. Hosted this year by Tara Clancy, Tara’s writing has appeared in The New York Times Magazine, The Paris Review Daily and The Rumpus. She is a Moth GrandSLAM winner and her stories have been featured on The Moth Radio Hour, as well as NPR's Snap Judgment and Risk!
Michigan Radio hosts monthly open mic Moth StorySLAM events on the third Tuesday of each month at the Circus Bar in Ann Arbor. The station also airs The Moth Radio Hour, featuring some of the best stories from Moth StorySlams and Mainstage events around the country. The Moth Radio Hour can be heard on Michigan Radio each Saturday at 12:00 noon and 8:00 p.m.
