The Living Room is co-produced and hosted by Allison Downey. She is a
performer, award-winning Singer-Songwriter, writer, and educator.
Allison has been a featured storyteller at festivals, conferences and
notable events including The Moth (StorySLAM winner; The Moth
Mainstage), Story Collider (show & podcast), and The Liar Show. Songs
from her CDs have received radio play in 5 countries and she’s
performed her music at prominent venues including The Ark and Miller
Auditorium in Michigan, and Joe’s Pub and The Living Room in New York
City. Allison holds an MFA in Theatre & Education from UT Austin. She
is currently an Associate Professor of creative arts education at
Western Michigan University and facilitates workshops in storytelling,
creativity, and arts integration."
The Living Room is produced by Zak Rosen. He is an award-winning,
independent multi-media producer. His radio features have been heard
on NPR, APM, PRI, the BBC and Deutsche Welle. He was the first
staff-producer on State of the Re:Union, a public radio program
co-distributed by NPR and PRX. Prior to that, he was a producer and
reporter at WDET.
