Detroit’s Heidelberg Project will undergo a transformation after 30 years of bringing art to the city’s East Side.
Founder Tyree Guyton is calling the new project “Heidelberg 3.0.”
Jenenne Whitfield, the project’s executive director, told Stateside the conversation about making a shift has been happening for about a year. She added that the shift would go from a one-man installation to a “cultural village” sustained by the community.
Whitfield joined us to share the project’s future in Detroit and the international support it received over the years.
