"I Wish I Was a Bird" by The Strapping Owls

In the spirit of Mardi Gras, Sinkevics brings us a funky blues power trio, known as The Strapping Owls. Their latest album, Live Wire Soul is a collection of live performances from different Michigan breweries, including: Final Gravity Brewing, Haymarket Brewery and The Red Dock.

'Roll On" by Deep Greens & Blues

A country band that began as a duo eight year ago, has grown a lot over the past years and has morphed into a six-piece band. Throughout their expansion, “What hasn’t changed: the group’s distinctive harmonies.” According to guitarist Travis Atkinson, “Roll On,” also represents the “most musically and emotionally complex” collection of songs yet.
The band next performs on March 16 at Elevation in Grand Rapids with Domestic Problems.
"Separate Minds" by Political Lizard

The duo Jenna Olson and Caleb Waldvogel hit the ground running after touring with The Accidentals last summer, an experience they said really "kicked them to the next level," resulting in their first album. Joy the Dog is “chock full of intoxicating and atmospheric songs that show off the young songwriters' catchy melodies and lyrics.”
The band recently hosted a jam-packed album-release show in Grand Rapids and will be playing at Rockford Brewing in Rockford on March 22 as well as Mustang Junction in Edmore on April 20.
"Circles" by Michigander

Singer-songwriter Jason Singer, aka Michigander known for his “anthemic pop and indie-rock artist continues to make a splash.” Just last week, he released a new single, “Circles,” that is consistent with his pre-established, “striking melodies and lush production.”
Sinkevics wraps up the segment with a little update on the young talented artist and highlights some of his recent accomplishments. “Later this month he is headed to the giant South by Southwest festival and music conference in Austin, Texas, and is one of ten Michigan acts that will perform at an official showcase hosted by the Michigan House organization.”
