General Motors is expanding its technical workforce.
By early next year, GM plans to hire 3,000 additional technical workers to help with virtual product testing and to develop software. The automaker wants to hire electrical system and infotainment software engineers to help develop electric and autonomous vehicles.
“As we evolve and grow our software expertise and services, it’s important that we continue to recruit and add diverse talent,” says GM President Mark Reuss.
A spokesman says most of the jobs will be at the Warren Tech Center.
GM will also be hiring at the automaker’s data and technical centers in Phoenix, Austin, Oshawa and Atlanta.
