Tomorrow, many people will switch from shopping at brick and mortar stores to shopping at online stores.
And, that means many will do Cyber-Monday browsing from their office cubicle.
Robert Half Technology surveyed employers and found 29 percent block access to online shopping sites. That’s down from 33 percent last year.
Karen Wilson is with Robert Half. She says allowing employees to shop online could actually improve productivity.
“As long as you don’t see abuse of those particular sites, or someone spending hours upon hours you know trying to shop until they drop. If that’s what they want to do we encourage you to take a vacation day,” says Wilson.
Wilson says employers should encourage workers to do most of their shopping research at home and only make online purchases at the office.
