Michiganders who smoke will soon have one less place to look for a job.

The well-known truck and trailer rental company U-Haul will soon stop hiring people who smoke in 21 states, including Michigan.

A spokesperson for the company expects the nicotine-free hiring policy would help create a more healthy corporate culture.

U-Haul International employs around 30,000 people across the U.S. and Canada.

U-Haul already has a no-smoking policy for its 167,000 rental moving trucks.

The new policy will start February 1st and won't apply to those hired before then.
