"People Love Dead Jews": The Jewish Federation of Greater Ann Arbor's Main Event
Reflecting on subjects as far-flung as the international veneration of Anne Frank and the Jewish history of the Chinese city of Harbin, critically-acclaimed author Dara Horn challenges us to confront the reasons why there might be so much fascination with Jewish deaths, as emblematic of the worst of evils the world has to offer, and so little respect for Jewish lives, as they continue to unfold in the present. The Jewish Federation of Greater Ann Arbor provides and inspires philanthropic leadership and community building to nurture a strong, engaged, connected, caring, vibrant and enduring Jewish community locally and around the world. The Main Event is the Jewish Federation's most far-reaching annual fundraiser to support this mission. The organization is thrilled to have Dara Horn in Ann Arbor for this year's Main Event to discuss her vital 2021 non-fiction work "People Love Dead Jews: Reports From a Haunted Present."
