Treasure Island
Treasure Island
Students from East Grand Rapids High School will perform Treasure Island, written by Ken Ludwig and adapted from the novel by Robert Louis Stevenson, on November 21-23, 2024.
Set sail on the journey of a lifetime, complete with cutthroat pirates, a treasure map, and a courageous boy entangled in a dangerous swashbuckling expedition. Jim Hawkins, a 14-year-old boy who longs for adventure, gets more than he bargained for when he embarks on a daring sea voyage to locate an island of buried riches. After setting sail with a crew of colorful – and suspicious – sailors, he discovers not only gold and gems but also treachery and mutiny lurking around every corner. Filled with an unforgettable host of characters, including the unscrupulous buccaneer-rogue Long John Silver, Treasure Island is an epic theatrical adaptation of one of the world’s great adventure stories.
Performances will be in the EGRHS Performing Arts Center at 7:00pm on November 21-23. Tickets are $8 for students, $12 for adults, and $16 for premium seating. Doors open 30 minutes prior to the scheduled curtain time.
Ken Ludwig's Treasure Island is presented by arrangement with Concord Theatricals on behalf of Samuel French, Inc. (www.concordtheatricals.com).
