Consistently rated the best local scavenger hunt since 2016!
Puzzling Adventures are a cross between a scavenger hunt, an adventure race, and an informative self-guided walking tour. Each adventure consists of a series of locations that you are guided to where you are required to answer a question or solve a puzzle to receive your next instruction. Compete as a group, individually or create multiple teams and race each other. Almost all of our adventures are designed to be wheelchair and stroller friendly and all are carefully crafted to be entertaining and informative with something to appeal to all ages. The Stamelos Gallery Center is proud to share the inaugural MWCS Signature Exhibition, guest curated by Rocco Pisto, with the campus and greater community. Forty-two exceptional artists have qualified for their Signature status with MWCS by being juried into at least four annual exhibitions over the last ten to twelve years. Signature members that have also completed a three-year term on the board received a Great Lakes Fellow designation to honor their volunteer service. There are thirteen Great Lakes Fellows exhibiting.
These Signature Members come from all parts of the state. Their work varies from representational to abstract, and everything in between, as each artist shares their distinctive styles and techniques. The remarkable watercolors featured in this exhibition are a sound representation of MWCS membership and the extraordinary artistic talent here in Michigan.
This exhibition is free to the public and will be on view at the Stamelos Gallery Center from July 14th until September 24th.

The American past was lived in full color, but this vibrant history can be easily missed in surviving evidence. You can’t deny that there’s something about a black-and-white photograph that feels… stuffy. With portraits showing people with their shirts buttoned right to the neck and everything in shades of gray and brown, our imaginations can incline to thinking of the past as a bit staid, if not downright dull. But look a little closer, and you’ll see signs that the fashion choices available to those who came before us were more colorful than you might first think. From the fabrics they wore, to the games they played, or the books they read, their world was alive with bright hues. This exhibit invites you to reimagine history with a fuller color palette and picture the vibrancy and joy that just might be hidden behind the unsmiling photographs.
Exhibition open weekdays from 12-4.
