The living conditions in Michigan are crumbling and the residents aren't happy about it.

That's according to a report by the Michigan Economic Center, called The Michigan Dream at Risk.

It says that over the past 10 years, Michigan's legislators have cut support to the things Michigan citizens love most.

Because of this, Michigan's roads, outdoors, and schools are suffering.

The report suggests more than 60% of those polled favor funding for public investments.

John Austin is the Director of MEC.

He says the report shows how Michiganders feel about the state.

"We want the state to be so attractive, not falling apart, that every entrepreneur, every individual, every family can keep their next generation here, and folks will come back and choose this state to live, work, and run a business," Austin said.

The report shows more than half of those surveyed believe public services are worse than they were 10 years ago.

Austin says people need to speak up for Michigan to improve.

"We need to be willing to raise the revenue and we need to give spine to our legislators," Austin said. "And only the public through their voice that says ‘we actually care about these things that drive Michigan and drive our economy and make Pure Michigan real’ and we’re going to expect you to do that."

The report is online and includes a section for people to share their views.
