EMU calls it the largest single construction project in the history of the University.
Today the school put the interior of the Science Complex on display.
AnnArbor.com has put together a slide show of the complex.
The AP reports the $90 million Science Complex was paid for through the sale of bonds and through a 4% tuition increase that was approved in 2005.
One of the more notable features of the Science Complex is a planetarium classroom that is suspended five stories in the air. It's the white ball with the green "E" flashing on it in the picture above.
Department Head Jim Carroll says:
"The department of physics and astronomy has dreamed for years... Our planetarium will be a dynamic, 3-D visualization experience, where we will showcase the wonders of the universe and the best of EMU. The planetarium will become an integral part of the amazing learning environment EMU offers its students."
EMU says it plans to use the planetarium as an astronomy classroom Monday through Thursday. They say they'll open the planetarium to area K-12 students and their teachers to explore the universe on Fridays, and open it up to the public on weekends.
