The University of Michigan's social media director, Jordan Miller, resigned yesterday.
That news came three days after an anonymous user on the social media information site Reddit posted allegations that she had lied about her credentials while applying for the position.

I don't like seeing my tax and your tuition money going toward paying someone ~ $100k/yr in earnings obtained through fraud, so I'm posting a little FOIA dump you all may be interested in.
The University's choice to hire Miller as their first social media director made headlines early this year when she was selected from dozens of applicants. AnnArbor.com reported that the position came with a $90,000 to $100,000 salary.
The anonymous Reddit user posted a link to documents they said they had received from the University in response to a Freedom of Information Act request.
The documents include a résumé and a form stating that Miller had graduated from Columbia College in Chicago and a certificate from Columbia College that says she did not graduate from the school.

Officials at the U-of-M confirmed that the résumé Miller posted was the one they received, and Columbia College confirmed that she never completed her Bachelor's Degree in Journalism at their school.
Miller released this statement to us via email today:
"My intention was never to deceive the university, but I acknowledge that I made a mistake, and I'm very sorry.
In light of this, I believe that it's in the best interest of the university that I resign from my position, so I have chosen to do that, effective yesterday," said Miller.
Lisa Rudgers, the University's Vice President for Global Communications and Strategic Initiatives, also sent us this statement:
"I appreciate all the talent and insight Jordan Miller brought to elevating the university's social space," said Rudgers. "Her work has been stellar, and she has established a solid foundation from which to build and grow. My thoughts and best wishes are with her."
