It's being billed as the largest anti-bullying rally in the state: 13 of Detroit's public schools are gathering with Special Olympics Michigan this week.
The students will sign a pledge not to use the word "retarded."
Organizers say since kids with intellectual disabilities are often in separate classes, the rally is also about getting students to spend time with each other.
"And seeing that they are, their similarities, they have a lot more similarities than they knew that they had beforehand," said Aaron Mills with Special Olympics Michigan.
Michigan has a law encouraging schools to do anti-bullying programs.
