The Environmental Protection Agency has released draft recommendations for industrial chemicals known as PFAS.

The EPA says the guidance will inform final cleanup levels for groundwater used as drinking water.

Now the agency is giving the public 45 days to view the draft and give input.

The agency says the recommendations may be revised as new information becomes available.

EPA Administrator Andrew Wheeler said in a press release that this is one of the “most important commitments under the PFAS Action Plan.”

In a press release, the Environmental Working Group said the proposal is an inadequate response to fixing PFAS contamination.
