President Donald Trump has approved Governor Gretchen Whitmer’s request for a major disaster declaration in Michigan.

That means Michigan is now eligible for help from the Federal Emergency Management Agency.

But Trump only approved part of Whitmer’s broad request for aid.

Michigan will receive funding for crisis counseling programs, and for emergency protective measures.

Whitmer called it a good start.

She also announced that Michigan has received more than 112-thosuand N-95 masks from the national strategic stockpile.
