Activists protest ICE over shooting of Detroit man

A group of about a dozen activists rallied in front of an Immigration and Customs Enforcement field office in Detroit today.

Last month,an ICE agent fatally shot a 20-year-old black man in Detroit during a police raid.

Police say the man, Terrance Kellom, was armed with a hammer. But his family says he was unarmed.

"That could have been any one of us,” says Ron Scott of the Detroit Coalition Against Police Brutality. “I mean, essentially a person gets killed, in their home, shot numerous times."

Scott and others are asking to meet with ICE officials. They also want an end to these kind of joint task forces that include multiple law enforcement agencies, because they’re not transparent and don’t have citizen oversight, Scott says.
