Sanders made stops in four Michigan cities today to stump for Hillary Clinton.

U.S. Senator Bernie Sanders was in Michigan Thursday to campaign for Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton.

He crisscrossed the state with stops in Dearborn, Ann Arbor, East Lansing and Grand Rapids.

Michigan State University students lined up in advance of Sanders' arrival for a chance to hear him speak on campus. Among them were MSU sophomores Harli Wood and Natalie Pate, who are roommates. Both supported Sanders during the primaries in March, but now plan to vote for Clinton in November.

Students lined up in advance of Bernie Sanders speech at Michigan State University on Thursday.

“I’m really excited to be here to see what Bernie has to say about why people who originally supported him should now be supporting Hillary,” Pate said.

For Wood, a big reason she “really loves” Sanders is because of his position on free college.

“I’m a huge supporter for free college and I think it would be super important and helpful for our country,” she said. “So I just think that Bernie’s such an inspiration in everything that he stands for.”

Sanders did speak about college costs during his speech, although this time it was about Clinton’s college affordability plan. Sanders said he supports Clinton’s plan.

“It is absolutely absurd that hundreds of thousands of bright young people who have the qualifications and the desire cannot go to college for one reason: Their families lack the money,” he said.

Sanders was also in Michigan to encourage people to get registered to vote. The last day for voters to register in time for the November general election is October 11. Sanders urged viewers to vote saying, “This campaign is not about Donald Trump. It is not about Hillary Clinton. It is about you and your families and the future of the middle class in this country.”

Clinton plans to campaign in Michigan on Monday. She was last in the state on August 11th.
