Border patrol agents arrested a Canadian man accused of bringing people across the border through a railroad tunnel between Detroit and Windsor, Ontario.
Prosecutors say five people paid Juan Antonio Garcia-Jimenez $1,500 each to smuggle them in to the U.S.
Border patrol agents caught one person coming out of the Detroit side of the tunnel in March and four more people in July.
They told agents Garcia-Jimenez brought them to the nearly two-mile-long tunnel and told them when to go in to avoid cargo trains.
Garcia-Jimenez is 53 and is a naturalized Canadian citizen from Guatemala.
A court hearing is scheduled for 1 p.m. Thursday in Detroit.
