The Mackinac Bridge was closed to all traffic in both directions for more than two hours Sunday afternoon because of a bomb threat.
The Mackinac Bridge Authority tweeted that law enforcement notified officials about the threat shortly after 2p.m. The bridge was reopened after 5p.m. following a search of the span.
Law enforcement notified the MBA of a bomb threat on the bridge; MBA closed the bridge at 2:15 p.m. After an extensive search, nothing has been found. They are completing one more sweep and hope to re-open the bridge soon. MSP and Mackinaw City police are investigating.

Mackinac City Police are leading the investigation into the incident, according to Michigan State Police. No other information was immediately available.
