We're talking the traditional, pitcher-of-beer, middle America, tenpin bowling.
Chad McClean set the official record in Gainesville, Florida last year. He managed 12 strikes in one minute.
Unofficially, Jason Hicks tied that record at his family-owned Clio Bowling Arcade last month. MLive's Aaron McMann says Hicks actually hit a 13th strike, but it was a second too late.
Here's a video of his last attempt:

Hicks will go for the record once again on May 2. As he did with his last attempt, Hicks is raising money for charity.
MLive's McCann reports the event will start at 6 p.m. at the bowling alley and will cost $25.
As for practice, Hicks says he hasn't really had the time since his last attempt. His duties at the bowling alley, with league and banquet season in full swing, and participation in a weekly league have kept him from trying again, but he hopes to get in a try or two soon. "The nerves are gettin' there," Hicks said.
