
Rick Brewer
General Assignment Reporter, WCMURick joined WCMU as a general assignment reporter in March 2022.
Before landing in Mount Pleasant, he was a producer for Iowa Public Radio’s two daily talk shows, Talk of Iowa and River to River, where he produced hundreds of interviews ranging from best-selling novelists, to hog farmers, and presidential candidates for the 2020 Iowa caucuses. While at IPR, Rick also served as a substitute host for Mid-day and Weekend Edition.
His work has been featured on PRX Remix, WAMC’s 51%, WFYI’s Curious Mix and NPR.
Rick fell in love with radio and podcasts while attending graduate school at Indiana University in Bloomington.
When Rick is not looking for stories, he can be found trying to make the perfect omelette, listening to robo-funk and keeping score at Great Lakes Loons games.
