A voting rights group says it will be on call on Election Day.
Volunteers will staff a hotline that voters can call if they experience problems casting a ballot.
Jocelyn Benson is with the Michigan Center for Election Law.
She says the phone number will be on yard signs outside most precincts.
"And then we will also have people live on the ground throughout the state, who can go quickly to a precinct, if there's a problem," says Benson. "For example in the past, we've had precincts where machines have been broken, and it wasn't clear why they were broken and if anybody had been brought in to fix them."
Benson says during the most recent primary, some people called the hotline because clerks told them they couldn't vote without I.D.
State law allows people to vote without I.D. if they fill out an affidavit.
