There will be a big parade in Washington D.C. after today’s inauguration ceremony.
Many people from Michigan will be in the parade.
Jocelyn Benson is the president of the Military Spouses of Michigan. She says it’s a great honor for a group whose sacrifices are often overlooked.
Benson says she’s looking forward to the parade, even though the temperatures will be on the chilly side.
“We’ll represent our state proudly,” says Benson, “And we’ll show southern states, where people may not be accustomed to the hardy weather that were accustomed to in Michigan, how to hours marching proudly in colder weather, but in service to your country.”
Several mounted police units from Michigan are also scheduled to take part in the parade.
