Michigan Congressman John Dingell is in the hospital.
Dingell was admitted to Henry Ford Hospital after complaining of abdominal pain.
A spokesman says the 88-year-old congressman is receiving intravenous antibiotics and is expected to remain in the hospital for a few days.
Dingell is the longest-serving member of Congress in American history. He was first elected in 1955.
He announced earlier this year he plans to retire after his current term.
