Once again, tempers flared during a public meeting on Flint’s water problems.
The city’s water system has been plagued with problems for the past year.
Thursday, Flint officials held another meeting on the city’s troubled tap water.
And once again, a shouting match erupted.
“You were working on it….but we were drinking it,” a woman in the audience shouted at emergency manager Jerry Ambrose as he talked about correcting problems with the Flint’s water system.
People complained about the cost of the water and its safety. As the arguing grew more heated, police escorted one man from the building.
“Admittedly it was a bit difficult because we had some folks that didn’t exactly want to follow the protocol that we’d established,” says Ambrose, “But I think it was a good meeting.”
Ambrose says a special water advisory board will continue to meet to discuss ways of improving Flint’s water.
Next week, a consultant hired by the city is expected to deliver his final report on dealing with Flint’s water problems. The report will be presented to the Flint city council March 18th.
