Republican presidential hopeful Doctor Ben Carson made a campaign swing through Michigan today.
Carson made stops in Jackson and Spring Arbor University. He told an audience at the Christian college the U.S. is a “Judeo-Christian nation,” and immigrants should not be allowed to change the character of the country.
Carson told the crowd “secular-progressives” are trying to force change upon the country.
“And they don’t want any discussion about it, therefore, they make things off limits to talk about. But you know what? I’m going to talk about it. I don’t care what they say,” he said to loud applause. "You know, I’m not politically correct at all. I hate political correctness.”
Carson recently came under fire for saying he does not believe a devout Muslim should be president. Carson says his words were misconstrued.
He’s hoping to win voters’ support in the March 8 Republican primary.
