The new regional authority in charge of southeast Michigan’s water is set to choose a leader Monday.
The Great Lakes Water Authority emerged from Detroit’s bankruptcy process. It essentially regionalizes Detroit’s water system, which has long served most of southeast Michigan.
Detroit technically retains ownership, but the GLWA will run the water system outside Detroit city limits.
GLWA board members narrowed the list of CEO candidates to two people last week.
One is current interim CEO Sue McCormick, who until recently headed the Detroit Water and Sewerage Department.
The other is Randy Moore, President of the Iowa American Water Company.
