Tim Suprise of Kalamazoo lived up to his name this week, when he was featured in campaign videos for both the Republican and Democratic U.S. Senate candidates this week.
On Monday, Democratic incumbent Sen. Debbie Stabenow released an ad touting her support of the craft beer industry, featuring Arcadia Brewing Company founder Tim Suprise.
"Senator Stabenow has really supported small business, and as a small, craft beer owner, that has mattered tremendously to us," Suprise says in the ad. "And it's a real privilege when you have a leader who steps up, regardless of what side of the aisle they stand on."

But after the Stabenow campaign released the video on Twitter, Republican candidate for Senate John James had his own surprise:
Tim! We love Tim. We ran into him just last week. Tim, a fmr. Reserve officer in the U.S. Army, said: "You need to look at the leadership, the experience, and I believe the kind of presence that we need in Washington, in John James for US Senate.” #LetsFlyMI #TeamJohnJames #MISen pic.twitter.com/PoOklqVsZa

In the James video, Suprise connects his own experience as a former Army Reserve officer to James' eight-year military career.
"You need to look at the leadership, the experience, and I believe the kind of presence that we need in Washington, D.C. in John James for U.S. Senate," says Surprise.
At the time we published this, Suprise could not be reached to see who, exactly, he plans to vote for next Tuesday.
Correction: An earlier version of this article misspelled Tim Suprise's last name. That error has been fixed.
