Ann Arbor is joining a growing list of entities offering help to federal workers affected by the partial government shutdown.
The Ann Arbor city council voted unanimously Tuesday night to defer city payments for federal workers.
Due dates can be extended for up to 60 days after the shutdown ends.
The council resolution doesn't specify which types of city payments may be deferred.
Last week, the city of Ferndale began offering similar payment assistance to furloughed and unpaid federal workers.
