State Representative Larry Inman (R-Traverse City) has been voted out of the House Republican caucus by his fellow GOP legislators.
Inman was charged on May 15 with soliciting a bribe, extortion, and lying to the FBI. He is currently scheduled to be arraigned in federal court in Grand Rapids.
Thus far, Inman has resisted calls from Republican leaders to resign, including a request from House Speaker Lee Chatfield.
Chatfield said last week, "The conduct and text messages sent by Rep. Larry Inman are completely out of line and are completely against the spirit of this entire institution."
This is a developing story.
