Stateside: Wednesday, Oct. 11, 2023

On this episode of Stateside, as the violence between Hamas and Israel continues, we discussed the rally for Palestine in Dearborn yesterday. Over a thousand individuals attended the rally to mourn the loss of civilian lives and to support the end of Palestinian occupation. Then, BAU-HŌUSE, an apparel store, gallery and creative space in Flint, is partnering with Pensole Lewis College to promote design education for the city’s kids. We talked with the store's co-founder about the partnership and how the store got started. Next, Port Austin is encouraging artists to visit and work in the city. We covered the art scene in Port Austin and how the Port Austin Artist Residency Program is bringing in new talent. Wrapping up today's show, how record-breaking apple harvests can create problems for Michigan farmers.
