You can join Stateside host April Baer on a nine-day adventure to Hawaii. You’ll visit Oahu, the Big Island, and Maui, and explore the beauty, history, and culture of the islands. Relax in paradise, witness spectacular waterfalls and enjoy lush tropical foliage with your fellow travelers.
Your expedition will take you to Honolulu, the state’s capital, that at first glance appears to be like any other large American city. However, the palm-trees, scarlet hibiscus and the variegated colors of the citizenry’s clothing make it clear that you are not anywhere but Hawaii. On the Big Island, ascend the rugged countryside to Volcanoes National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage site where you’ll see a real, smoking volcano. Travel to the historic fishing village of Kailua Kona, referred to by the locals as Kona town, and enjoy local cuisine. Every winter, more than 8,000 humpback whales migrate to the warm Pacific waters of Hawaii to mate, birth and nurse their calves. On a Maui Whale Watching Cruise, you’ll sail out into the water with an experienced captain and crew to find whales and witness them up close.
Along the trip you’ll also have the opportunity to tour Pearl Harbor, soak up sun on the beach, relax poolside, explore volcanic craters, and enjoy a Hawaiian Luau, a fun filled cultural event featuring traditional food, dancing, and music.
