Flat Rock

Environmental agencies have been trying to identify the source of the spill since it was first reported on February 21st. They now say they’ve most likely found it: a leaky underground storage tank at the Flat Rock Metal industrial facility.

State and federal environmental agencies say they are investigating a chemical-like sheen on a tributary to the Huron River. The sheen is in the city of Flat Rock, in Metro Detroit’s Downriver area.
