“This will save money for Michiganders immediately, within the next few months,” said Sen. Gary Peters (D-MI)

The legislation would overhaul the postal service's finances and allow the agency to modernize its operations. The bill would also require six-day-a-week mail delivery.

“Ports in Michigan and across the Great Lakes and St. Lawrence Seaway system are ready made relief valves that are currently underutilized,” said U.S. Sen. Gary Peters (D-MI).
