Wayne County Prosecutor Kym Worthy’s office will not press charges against the Detroit police officers who shot and killed Porter Burks, who had schizophrenia. Worthy said evidence indicates the officers acted in self-defense.

A warehouse full of more than 11,000 untested rape kits were found abandoned in 2009. All of those kits have been tested. But there are still thousands of cases to prosecute.
